The lower rear fender area (near the mudguards) of the BNR32 is highly susceptible to internal rust.
 
Conventional repair methods often present a dilemma: simple surface treatment with body filler frequently leads to recurrence within months, while replacing the entire factory quarter panel is prohibitively expensive—costing approximately 280,000 JPY (as of June 2026) for parts alone, plus significant labor for glass and interior removal, as well as extensive painting.
